might be an escap'y when the river flooded rite over the top.its done that a few times in the last ten yrs.lost a few jacks in my time from the weir and the bottoms.certainely dark n dingy upstream ideal water for pike.who knows might be a gd few in there, atleast we no there's fish up there for em to hunt down.

had a second walk this morning, this time took a bucket ov pellets and some ground bait with me.no one fishing today but didn't expect there to be to be honest.anyways introduced some feed into a few nice looking swims.gonna do it on a regular basis before I fish it.im thinking that'll be the key to getting a few chub out.i did see 3 toppers this morn though, river was carrying a gd few inches and chocolate brown.fish I seen were at the top limit, probabely small brownies.might venture down again later this afternoon or tomoz to take another look or introduce a bit ov liccy bread.

I will pack a rod one day like lol.said yesterday I wished I had.was no diff this morn, more so when I seen a few signs.but ile stick to me plan and go in a wk or so when I feel what im doing is working.prob still blank but stand a better chance I think.you watch some bugger will be in me swims when I decide to go sods law.nxt outing think ile clear a few pegs out, just don't want to make it too conspicuous to were im feeding that's all.not seen anyone fishing were im baiting up and no signs anyone has fished them spots so hopefully ile get one or two.5 or 6lb ov dace was gd on the yrs back, dosnt sound like much but you really had to work for them.and a couple ov chub was an exceptional day.100 gonks wasn't unusal mind it was wick with the buggers.

well day 3 of baiting up again.more signs of people fishing the river further upstream aswell.met marty at foxcoverd and we wanderd of down together.baited a few swims ide baited previous plus another few gd looking swims.water was up about 2ft and chocolate, but there was some really juicey looking swims even with water.i stuck pellet, corn in today and marty took a few maggs and spread them around.
other day I seen a few small toppers/today we both seen one hell of a fish roll and splash on the surface.certainely something quite large aswell almost on the far bank just beyond a crease, and a small fish top a few times close to our inside bank.
anyway a few pics ov today.must say it does look rather chubby were we wanderd today.
back tomoz to do it all again.

it is mate.stilllike to know what it was we seen rolling around wasn't small whatever it was.im thinking chub, but since that old guy swears almost it was a pike im holding my thoughts.watever it is I aim to snare the bugger lol.we need some decent parking down there.walking down that bank this morn almost got killed the pair ov us been no proper footpath its dangerous.nely got my arse wiped out a few times.even worse if you was carrying your gear down,if summit is sticking out roadside ude be done for.
we need access through that gate again really.roadside is fine, but ive had a ticket on there before and can see someones car getting wiped out or stuck in the field.

found holes down to 8-9ft but that was 15yrs ago.still some deep water average is between 4-6ft.bottom pegs are deepest and the pipe peg across the back and under your feet shallows through the middle.top end not as deep and some pacey water around 18" then deepens again further up so a bitt up and down.some nice pole pegs and sticky water.wouldnt go heavey on the tipp a very light arlsley or link ledger will fish most pegs.can get pretty clear aswell and it dosnt take long to run off.
