I just think it makes our fishing even more difficult Mick, even the stillwaters switch off with so much cold water going into them.
I fished in between storm Ciara and storm Dennis, (Wednesday) I didn’t have a run, there was so much icey water went into the lake.
I try to fish around the weather which simply means some weeks I can’t fish then as of tomorrow I’ll be away for best part of 5 weeks, I still fancied an end of season proper lump but I’ll have to wait until next year unless I can gamble a March water.

Go to the Yarm monitor. It is one of the new types that also give a prediction. It suggests that it won't get to the record for that location.
The Swale at Crakehill is giving a record prediction though. York/Boroughbridge could get very interesting in the next day or so.

More rain to come Mick, a lot will depend on what happens on the pennines, guess I'll find out early doors tomorrow morning how much rain there is about, its going to get worse for the lower Ouse catchment around York where water levels tend to peak 2 or 3 days after the rain stops so not looking good for them

No chance of fishing this weekend so I had a drive down to the Tees this morning to see how it was looking. All of the houses were sandbagged but the locals, who were looking worried, reckon that it was higher last weekend but last nights rain hadn't yet arrived. No chance of a photograph downstream of the bridge, the water was over the banks and in the club car park. It won't take much more for it to come over the top,I've never seen it as high as this before. I went down to Dinsdale afterwards but the road was being closed as I arrived, the water was lapping the bridge and well into the fields either side of the road. This was as close as I could get on the Middlesbrough section, you can just make out the bridge in the background. As I walked back someone with a child in the car who didn't want to turn back drove around the signs, over the bridge and filled his car with water. Absolutely mental thing to do but hilarious to see the water pouring out of his footwells when he finally got through .

The way the graph keeps heading for the Yarm station it looks like a new high water record level could be on the cards

This shot gives a better idea of how much water was coming through this morning.

After last weeks flooding at my house, it was squeaky bum time today - I think the level is certainly as high as last week, which was the highest I have seen in 20 years of living here - I will find out tomorrow when it's light to see the full height

Above the doorway on the old town hall in Yarm high street is a level marker of the floods from sometime in tne 1770's. Pretty scary. Think it will take something to beat that .

With the horrendous floods makes me think that no matter what the comming weather the current coarse river season is over. The levels will recede but the banks will take weeks to dry out. The colour in the water weeks to clear. And as said even the still waters will be way off form.

Agreed its going to take a fair while to settle down and thats assuming we dont get any more of the wet stuff and the clocks ticking towards mid March
