I thought they were bang on, yarm topped out at only 3 cm shy of its highest recorded levels, those new bigger and taller flood gates seemed to work well

I was down the tees Saturday was fining off nicely then it rose again on the night. Doesnt feel like weve had a proper winter tho too many floods not enough settled weather hopefully we get some good fortune before season finishes I've been on the wharfe tonight with barbel rod had to wade through the fields to get to the bank only a meter of grass to park chair onto kept a very close eye on levels. No bites but glad to wet a line after seeing all the floods

The Tees is a mighty strange river regarding floods, can be in the fields one day and within its banks inside two days, doesnt make it fishable though, too much flow with water thundering downstream and the colour of chocolate
Will get better though with a few days of more settled weather and no rain and the horrible colour will drop out, as said be very careful on the bankside it'll be like a skating rink

The rate of rise and fall has always been dramatic. Just a look at the bridges along its travel to the sea. All high and built to withstand the floods. Back before river monitors it my not of rained localy you arrived Dinsdale and there was a six floot flood of clear water hammering through from the Pennines. 8 hours later it was back to normal.

Had planned to make a long awaited return to the Tees before the close season hits us, desperate to wet a line. If the levels drop is there any mileage in a pike session near the casino/ Victoria bridge?

Another storm coming but not much more rain so fingers crossed ,iv walked rivers lot and know lots of swims particularly on my favourite the wharfe are gonna have changed and be snaggy where they weren't , but that's the beuty of river fishing , it's always different , but I am fuming about one swim as it now had a 30 ft tree stump in it lol
