I'll be on the Tees, opening day is on a Monday this year so I will go for an evening session after work. Location depends on the conditions but it's more about getting out and wetting a line than expecting to bag up.

im making sure nothing stands in the way this yr apart from the weather of course.
an all day event, last yr was a wash out and season before hospitalized,so really looking forward to this one.fish will be a bonus, but just getting out on the river bank will do me.armed to the gun with bait and very little tackle.
and you guessed it only one species in mind.if that means sitting until dusk bfore my quest then so be it.cant bloody wait, even my rods are made up ready just to clip a lead or feeder on.hally pellets crushed and rareing to go.new line all round and stocked up on goodies.16th cant come soon enough.

Spain, earning massive man points After a week back at work I've got 2 weeks off on me own. First week away in Lincolnshire fishing for a week, caravan next to a private lake, brilliant. Second week,no secrets. Upper Tees association water from Piercebridge down to Swinelairs as many evenings into the dark as I can manage. It can be snaggy so It'll be nothing more complicated than a lump of plasticine on the line and meat and big halibuts for bait. Don't want to lose loads of feeders so it'll be either loose feed or a pva bag with smaller pellets and meat with boilies as a change bait. Reel lines changed, hooklengths tied, everything cleaned and tidied. Can't wait

Only fished about six times last year so line is good to go. Need to think about prepping some particles in the next few weeks but I don't think you can go far wrong with natural baits at first as the fish won't have seen pellets and boilies for months and can take a while for them to switch back on to them.

agree stu early season I use maggs/casters/worm mainly over a bed of hemp.itll pull more fish than your pellets n boilies will, although you will catch fish.i tend to fish a lot smaller baits and fish the feeder a lot more than strait bomb.mixed with party mix and crushed hally's its deadly.

I tend to go all out for a specimen fish on opening day and usually fail miserably.
So this June 16th, I've booked the day off, I'm taking stick float and 3 pints of caster and I'm going to try for a net of dace with the hope of the odd chub. Location is sorted too, just need to hope tht conditions will be spot on

ile have me sticky with me aswell.my point of call has some gd glides were the whiskers and chub sit so its worth sticking it in the bag aswell.prob spend a few hours on that during the day when they prefer a moving bait too static, then sit on the big rods later.
can only hope jim.

Looking for a net full rather than just the odd fish, so either bream on the feeder or chub/dace on the stick.
Hopefully of a few evenings after the eels or perch.
