I'm looking for some venues with a possibility of big perch.
Any ideas lads? (Pm if preferred)

I'd say most commercials hold a decent head of large perch, you would just have to put up with catching the other species or use dead/live baits to try and avoid them. Also worth trying any waters that don't hold pike.

Cheers for the info.
I'm after a bit of an quiet place, ie not commercials to try some lure fishing and drop shotting. Canals would be perfect but not sure which ones hold the size of perch I'm after.

Sorry mate, I'm on about stillwaters or canals! Once rivers are open, the tees will be my target.
Any recent reports of mount grace?

all I know mate is stokesley used to have it I think.used to go with me mate scruff for the pike and often took large perch on the lure, some rite big fish.only problem there was you used to have to get off quite early cos the gates got locked.there was a bloke came round mind to let you know.never really searched the net for any more info, but might be worth doing jim.tontine has some gd ones aswell,as does scaling dam aswell as big pike.not sure if they still hold that pike comp on there now annually as they used too.it was to remove them mind,so dnt think ude be up for that.the gill was supposed to have some big uns in, aswell as british steels old pond near khorn in stokesley industrial estate.was a bitt run down when I last visited.

Cheers, I had a few hours with a lure rod at scaling dam a few years ago, no pike but hooked into a few trout, but they encourage the trout anglers to knock them on the head so the pike pfishing will always be hit and miss
