I'll give them a try, it's a 5.9 tide next Wed night and I wouldn't mind giving it a go.

30 mile an hour winds of cowbar low water after a gd flood perfect.just be prepared to run a little lol.get in the boiler holes you'll get cod.not pretty weather to fish in like and you got to leave blob on time or your not getting off.the white post was a gd mark just got to tigh yourself off on the top of the cliff your fishing directely down onto the boilers from there and easy access and parking.anything big you got to tigh it off and go down low water to get it so you want Pennell riggs for a gd hook hold.and plenty of reels full of line.wish I was into it still just cant do the scrambling anymore.if you want some gd fishing get yourself up to Arbroath cracking fishing and the mull come april may onwards.all depends how big your into your sea fishing really, but we moved around and followed the seasons accordingly.

Gave it a go last night as the wind was supposed to be lighter. The beach was too dodgy, my mates not that mobile, good size waves coming in and a strong southerly blowing along the shore. Fished the cobble landing at Filey and still got soaked with the waves over the top. Ended up with one rockling and a pizza to take away.

Once in a 50 year event a Whitby 30lb shore cod. They get them that size very rarely out on the boats and that gets you local fame! But a shore cod of 30lb?? In the south westerlies we've been having of late?? Do you know the guy who caught it? He should be throwing a pic up! Hell get sponsored!!

I remember 5 or 6 years ago a shore cod of 24lb caught from the Tyne got massive attention. Brilliant fish and definitely a once in a lifetime fish. There just aren't the stocks these days that there were in the 50s and 60s. A double

stevie had it on his phone jim ile try track it down.genuine fish but suppose something like that ude want to keep the mark private.if I had a 15 lb whisker I know my location would be under wrapps.
I had a 21lb cod from a Yorkshire mark about ten yrs ago.it was known about but the mark was kept quiet.only bite of the night aswell on a flat calm sea after a 4 day blow.i thought that was a big fish,my closest ever to it was 14lb of the brigg.
fish of a lifetime deffinately, seems to be a few good fish getting caught.must say aswell not everyone is on forums.you still get the lone chaps that know the area well,im pretty new to forums to be honest.never used to take photo's either or post like I do now.
said from tail on floor it came to his waist line with one hell of a girth on the photo.well done that man all I can say ide have loved a shore cod of that size.as you say not many thirty's of that size come to boat anglers these days.although stevie had a lovely 34lb'r and a huge ling of Whitby(boat).
ive witnessed plenty of fish in the 14-18lb bracket, but you have got to go back a lot of yrs ago when cod were more available around our shores.and 14 fish a nite was a common sight even from salty pier back then although most were in the 2lb-6lb bracket.
