I've been doing a bit of angling club research. This club has rights to 1.5miles of the swale near Pickhill, se stretches on the river aire, and some Leeds Liverpool canal. The surprising bit... £16 annual membership and £1 joining fee!! Might be worth a punt at that price? www.idleandthackaa.supanet.com/page4.html

fished skiptons 100's ov times I can get to the bridge no prob but its a diff stretch to were im used to fishing and parking.i know mick has fished it a few times so ile be asking him were you park.
lovely stretch though harry some monster chebs on there.it held the swale record for a time.i done a write up years ago about it some 20 yrs back.it was the only place I knew ov that you could get a bag of fish all 4lb plus and every chance of a six pounder.
best net so far was a stunning 187lb of fish in a seshion, more the reason ive joined boro for it to be honest.i was fishing other side of the bridge mind opposite the island, but big bags came other side of the bridge aswell.
I know the swale isn't the water it was once,100lb weights were common in the matches back then so certainely a decline in returns but if its half as gd as what it was its worth the membership just for there.

Me and mick struggled on the bridge peg the last few weeks. Wonder if the fish have moved to deeper water for the winter?
