Hello from Stockton

Hi

Anthony here, I used to fish many many moons ago mainly in the Tees up towards Middleton Teasdale but that was around the 1980’s and I mainly used float back then. Wasn’t very good at it either.
But here I am at 50 and my son wants us to go fishing. I am considering fly fishing and thought this would be a place to start. I am not familiar with the area as I was raised in Darlington and only just moved to Stockton. I Need help getting the gear I will need, what is the best angling shop for my needs? Also is there anywhere close to where I live that is a good spot for a beginner and a 15 year old?
Also can I get a license that covers salmon and trout etc or would I need 2 licenses? Thank you

Welcome on board.

No dedicated fly fishing shops around Stockton only Angling direct and Cleveland Angling Centre Thornaby but they are predominantly course fishing, Also Billingham Angling Centre but there is a dedicated fly shop at Jubilee Lakes Darlington or there used to be, just give them a ring and discuss your requirements etc before you make the trip through.

Salmon licence covers Trout and Course fishing I believe.
