Not looked at the forum recently. Still fishing but not really doing anything most are interested in. Been fishing Bowesfield and Worsall a lot chasing silvers. And visits to various commercials. Bought an 8 whip for this season and been using it a lot. Had some decent nets including bream up to 2lb, which are wuite a tussle on a whip. When l think of the varied types of angling l have tried over the years. The only conclusion l can come to is l like being outdoors and the fishing venue, species and size caught is irrelevant.

I think all fishing is interesting and good read John I admire people catching sivers fast bites constant work , and lake fishing done properly too is good and your a good angler .
I miss you reports especially tees and river fishing the barbel ones were what initially got me interested in catching them , though I still don't give enough time to the tees .
Im a odd angler I like the long drive somewhere and feel like it's been a proper day out not keen on ten mins and home.
Also the tees for all it's a big river is so overgrown a lot of so called club waters are very hard ni on impossible to fish without a lot of work .
But iv found an area now and almost had one using light gear at time of day you'd never expect one and in low water , now I just need to get one in my barble set ups.
I just love fishing it makes me feel bit sad the way river fishing especially seems to be gradually dying out , but suppose in rest of my fishing life means more opportunities for me

Nice to see a post from you,John. Like Kev I was beginning to wonder if you weren't fishing much these days. I bought a selection of different length whips a while ago and really enjoyed catching silvers and had a few hairy moments on bigger fish but was surprised how much stick the whip could take. Only problem I had was the constant flicking the rig out brought back my old tennis elbow which I first got from stickfloat fishing and with the Covid carry on I've never bothered with stillwaters much since. Look forward to more of your posts.
