After three year brake used my Stockton b ticket for first time , well never intended to but wharfe where I go was far too high and fast ,cowthorpe too busy and toppy flooded and only swims fishable taken
So thought why not tees it's about time Arrived 5pm river slightly up and lots of clumps of blanket weed coming down .
Fished maggotts feeder for couple of hours and manage numerous small to medium perch and one skimmer .
8pm out went scaled down barbel set up , or with it being tees chub with a 1000 to 1 chance of a barbel set up .
Fished 10ml boiles, meat, and pellet managed 6 chub biggest only couple of pound .
But the evening was lovely I forgot how nice tees is ,just wish the barbel were more in numbers, as I'd choose them over Any other fish and I consider myself a good barbel angler now , but the tees is not so much about skill as it is being lucky imo .
But I loved it and will deffo have few more goes this year , tight lines all

Nice one Andy, glad to see you giving the Tees ago again, you've been spoilt lately fishing locations that are the equivalent of a river commercial for barbel, so good to see you out and challenging yourself 👍👍😉

Yeah Mick , I agree Swale and wharfe do fish lot better for barbel , but tbf I don't think the tees is more challenging , if it had a stick of barbel that were really spooky and hard to catch I'd fish it every day and not go anywhere else ,but it's more they just aren't there in any numbers where you can fish for them .
The draw I had for tees last night was change in atmosphere it was beautiful , big wide river , scenary green and lush , I really enjoyed it
But where fishing concerned I like catching barbel and the tees just too hit and miss to fish it just for barbel .
Also there's not many barbel coming out of Swale or from what im reading any rivers nation wide so iv been jammy and walked miles and miles
But il be back on tees once a week for chub and perch and dream of a tees barbel

Glad you enjoyed it,Andy. There's lots of dace and perch in the Tees these days so maggots are always going to catch them,a nice days fishing if you're on a stick or waggler but maybe not if you're chasing chub or,dare I say, barbel. Walking miles and miles looking for barbel isn't being jammy it's good angling, when you find some fish it's a reward for your hard work when the alternative would have been sitting tight and probably blanking .
