I got sick of tees not just lack of barbel though I did have one small one , it was more the river was scenic but often quite featureless in terms of snags over hanging trees n stuff
I might well give it nother go iv joined Stockton ,mycaim is this year a barbel outta every river locally that had them , iv done wharfe ,Swale , next nidd and Trent ,tees last later in season where more chance of regular high water

I will definitely have the odd go for them - on the doorstep, high average size, lovely river and top challenge! Also the compensation of seeing Steveβs unicorn when failing!

Wouldn't class the Trent as local πππ Steve think that was the same model I saw that said she'd seen you land a Barbel !!! π

Yeah Trent furthest away Mick il try , just had walk along stretch of tees looked low to me and not much evidence of anyone been hacking the bankside growth to make swims
Il give it a go in coming weeks ,I just prefer the pace and features of yorkshire rivers , I think if you could target barbel on tees I'd fish it all the time but it's just pure luck , you can find a perfect looking swim and area and might not be any Barbel within miles of ya , do to me its more of a lottery than skill , but I'd love to get a good one .
Im trying to find Cairns not sure of spelling as I have joined Stockton and someone said it's great bit of river and whiskers still occassionally come out ,but that's same along tees
