had many very large fish unexpected on my old 13ft super waggler the im8 one as I did on my im8 medium feeder.you just got play a little longer.
used to love my Drennan im8 tench rod would handle anything that swam.remember fishing broken scar many many years ago, waggler fishing and hit into a 7lb bule on my 13ft Drennan.was there 25 mins, arm burning but got it in the end.
clutch setting has to be blob on as john says, you may be bent double but give it a little line, odd bitt ov pressure and hope your line dosnt run out pmsl.
I hate to see fish bullied to the nett, specially when folks fish way beyond what they need....can understand it if your fishing in a snag pitt for barbel or chub or even carp, ive done it myself, you have to keep that pressure on.lad other day on a commy must have thought he was fishing the sea on the rock edges.rod pointing strait up,20lb line could see it from 7 pegs away with what looked to be a boat rod lol.
