I'm gonna chance a day's fishing tomorrow iv nailed barbel fishing big time but still nee , I know in winter pick ya times ,smaller baits lighter gear , but what about depth of water where iv had loads of success on wharfe it's quite shallow , so wondering even tho a fairly mild winter will the barbel move into deeper water ,say nearer a weir pool or would I be best sticking to deeper water on swale , any idea if u get this in time cheers all and Happy New year hope you all have great season

shallow water that runs off into deeper water you want to be aiming for.should be a few feeding with these milder temps.
was tempted to get my gear and have a few hours myself but still finding it hard to get out.probabely going to hit the canals for a day silver fishing now ive got my pole gear back but wnt be until nxt week or back end of this one,see how things pan out.
ide switch over to caster on the hook aswell for the bules and hemp.still take the odd bigger bait along too.
good luck bud
