Thanks, Robin. I actually had two 2.5lb perch on lures during the summer - mind you, both from same peg on different occasions so could've been same fish twice.

Just joined this board so hello everyone. I've been out a lot recently in the last 2 months or so. Fished Moulton Lane and Green Lane both up near Croft. Also been up to The Oaks at Sessay 4 or 5 times. Fished Morndyke last week aswell had a couple of brilliant carp. Also fished a place up at Shildon for the first time called Eden Grange Fisheries defiantly worth a try if you've never fished it before. Well that will do from me haha cheers

bit ov a late posting I know.
im guilty ov not posting due to a hectic lifestyle.
I have been out a few times with some success, but as do a lot of people, finding time to squeeze things in is almost impossible.i dnt do facebook so when I can ile pop on and say hi.ive got to the stage were Im contacting all my mates(fishing) on my phone and chatting or ringing that way.to many new members poaching forums these days.i tend to keep my exploits to myself now.forums dnt effect the way fishing goes,i still enjoy getting out when I can.forums used to be a great place to catch up with your buddys and have a crack.just find many use fb these days to discuss there days out.they certainely arnt what they were.i can remember when mick first started the sight,it was a good crack.i find the forum to serious these days.people wanting to see pics etc, expecting every catch to be put up,hammer and bickering over this and that.i find the fun has dissapeard.now I meet up on the bank or I go n pick up the lads and we head off.the fun is on the bank now were you can have a good laff and banter, its not on the forums now.ile still be popping on from time to time when I can.
hope your all keeping well, keep thoughs bends in the rod chaps.

I enjoyed the meets on the bank,i organised two of them but turnouts were low due to work commitements.the lads that turned up had a good crack even if the fishing wasn't upto parr…….would have been a good night if we had the boozeup I was trying to organise, was hopeing that was going to get more interest but it never materialized...I hit Whitby and York now with a good bunch of lads once a month, the banter that comes out then is mint lol specially when it really starts flowing....planning to get more in nxt yr myself stevie, but I said that about this year and it never happened...…….enjoy all.

Been a quiet year for me as well. Work has been busy and the few times I have been out it's not been that spectacular. Did manage a new PB Barbel on the Trent on the August Bank Holiday. Not had much luck on the Swale this year but have enjoyed when I have got out. Some great sessions of mixed fish from Tilery Lake on The Hartlepool AC book and I think John Broomfield will agree it is a lovely water offering great fishing. Hoping to get out chub fishing soon.

Il still post if I get out on rivers ,but also gonna go on club Facebook pages , used to love it on here and can't leave it lol but had one of best years Bsrbel fishing I could imagine and feels like the crew who used to chat about it and stuff don't bother no more or have moved on ,great lads on here though and will always hold in good regard for getting me into river fishing
And John love your reports from rivers some of best reading on here , just not arsed about carp in ponds they are easy to catch and rarely get a day off , one sad day on the oaks taught me never to do it again fish with disfigured mouths that it's a wonder they could feed ,I get why people go it but it's just not for me ,whatever you all do in 2920 I hope it's a good one I for one will still post river trios , joined Bradford no 1 and bingley , give up on Leeds not for me topcliffe is like a commercial version of a river most days bait going in every where above bottom limit inc anglers in the trees , and Bradford city just don't have much to go at

Well said Mick definitely don’t close this now I’ve just found you, work has meant that most of my fishing has been out of the area for years. At last I can fish locally and hopefully meet an angling buddy or two as my brother (normal fishing buddy) will struggle to get out over the next few months. Facebook has its place but it’s very “in the now” and doesn’t do searching and finding information over the long term very well. Forums like this are still the best for this kind of community and I’d urge everyone to contribute and share our victories, our failures, ideas and requests for help. I look forward to being as active as I can and meeting some of you on the bank in the coming months and years.

Yes Basha it's weird I used to think people who river fished exaggerated how great it was but I realise now they painted an exact picture
It's heaven and winter months are just boring , if we still had cold crispy picturesque winter's I might get into the hole pike n chub winter fishing ,but been out four times and got caked in cold mud ,blown away by gales for little reward
Wish I could sleep till June , well wake up for a pint, a shag , summat to eat and a smoke not sure what order lol , but can't wait for June
