Hi all Just joined, have mainly done sea angling for the last 50yrs or so although enjoyed coarse fishing back in the 70s when i was a member of middlesbrough ac. Have recently retired and as well as continuing sea fishing am going to start to do some freshwater angling again. Would be grateful for some advice on the best club/s to join to enable access to a good variety of rivers and stillwaters for pike, barbel, tench and carp. Cheers

Welcome along Sean, I'm just getting ready to go fishing so bit short on time to give you a full answer, but both Middlesborough and Stockton will offer you that, Stockton have a lot more of the Tees where Boro have a lot more of the swale both clubs have still waters but I would say Boros still waters are better fishing, there's also yarm, thornaby, and Darlington brown trout but if your willing to travel and fish most the Yorkshire rivers Leeds would be my no1 go to club 😉👍

Thanks Steve, yes i will no doubt be asking for advice on various subjects and am already learning from older posts on here regarding venues etc. At the momentI will be limited to free stretches and day ticket waters but will hopefully be joining some clubs in the new year.
