Shimano Beastmaster CX Multi 9ft - 11ft Float Rod

Have been fishing a few ponds in the last couple of years with my 13ft Drennan but have found it a little too long and tippy in action.
So looked to get a shorter rod for about £50 and the usual Drennan Red and Daiwa Ninja popped up.
However I saw these Shimanos advertised by Erics Angling down from £130 to £50 and took a punt.

First impression was a very nicely finished rod, cork handle with a short duplon piece at the reel foot, keeper ring and nylon bag.
The rod has two butt pieces that push into the handle to change lengths. You have to strip the line out to swap lengths but I don't see that as too much of a problem. Recommended up to 8lb line too.

I've used the rod mainly in the 9ft length for the last month on a couple of ponds fishing from under the tip to 30m with a 3.5g float and I can't fault it.
The short length action is all the way to the butt while the longer length has a little more strength in the lower end.

It's coped with a few roach and tench, and last night I had a mid double common from under the tip and it didn't miss a beat in the 9ft mode.
They are still advertised for £50, well worth a look if you're in the market for a new rod.

sounds good mate I'm after a float rod mainky for rivers something that'll cope with chub near snags when roving with chubba float but soft enough to play on silvers

My wife wants a word with you kevd! ....... just bought one of those rods to add to my collection of gear i dont use. " how many rods do you need cos you can only use 2 at a time !" You've got 2 feet but doesn't stop you buying loads more shoes that you don't wear does it! Cant move in our house for boxes of shoes......any one seen the last clip on raiders of the lost ark? Where the guy pushing a box into a massive warehouse full of boxes as far as the eye can see?...... That's our bedroom!!!

you only buy rods of me to see our lass and get a free glass ov pop dingle.
you dnt really want the tackle at all.......your beginning to become a tart,ive matured now and stopped buying.
im lying really ive been told im getting black bagged if i buy more.

any rod by shimano is a good rod even in there budget range,always well finished.ive been an admirer of shimano's for yrs.the beastmasters are a specially a grt bitt ov kitt.
