you fish turnip and loosefeed pea's Joking apart, the old fella kept catching decent tench and roach a few years back, and I kept asking after every trip what bait he was using. "Frozen peas" was the response. He often is a wind up merchant so I took it with a pinch of salt. Went fishing with him, lo and behold he starts bagging on frozen peas whilst I blanked

you can still catch on corn in the colder months but its not as effective as summer months. bread punch/worm on hook and chopped worm as feed you'll get fish/hemp and tares will fish too...take pellets aswell.
all depends were your fishing to be fair.some heavily fished matched waters you will catch well.harder not so popular water can be hard but deffo try and get yourself maggots n caster it'll catch when all else fails fella.......leave the turnip at home.
ive seen peeps catch on peas aswell jimmy and sheep droppings which i think ive mentioned before.

Not a lot to add to Mark's advice I was gonna suggest punched bread great winter bait and cheap if your on a budget, but as Mark says it all depends where your fishing to what you will catch, if it's a well stocked commercial fishery you should definitely catch a few f1s carp and ide on corn even bream if they feel like feeding, and don't forget don't over feed with loose offerings as you will feed them off at this time of year litterally feed two or three grains of corn every now and then this will keep them competing for food but not feed them off

Don't let it deter you it's tough every where at the moment, maybe try looking for a easier water until you find your feet again, last thing you wanna do is be fishing tough waters and blanking if your trying to get back into fishing

get yourself on a well stocked commercial. check match bookings and try to jump on one of the match lakes when not in use. check out match weights from the venue and peg numbers it'll give you rough idea were to head for,but dnt expect the same results theres some top match lads out there that make it look easy.you'll find the less active waters tough with fewer fish and less bait going in.im not sure were you are located to be fair.as mick said it is tough out there but theres still fish to be caught its just finding the rite location and technique on the day.its always worthy of a walk round a few places aswell to get to know local lads who could give you some pointers most wnt mind giving you a few tipsters/knowledge.sit and watch what they are doing and absorb some input,we all have blank days just keep at it marra.
