lol havent looked at that post for a bit, unless stella is starting to affect my memory, cheers everyone il look in a bit, if any one wants any help or info on fly fishing lockwood, and all northumbrian water ressies on fly, plus a great stretch of wear at Finchale priory create a post, Finchale priory is brilliant for brownies and grayling on fly , just outside durham and cheap day ticket, lots of runs , iv only fly fished it but seen lads there doing well on feeder and stick float in past, catching trout and chub, and dace.
Most bownies about 3/4 of a pound but have had several arround 1.5lb to 2lb, if you go though its a must during the week and not when kids are off school as its a magnet to families after cheap day ouy.

Problem with Finchale Priory is it gets full of pissed tools throwing beers bottles in the river as soon as the sun comes out. Went out for a day with the family a few years back and vowed never to return, absolutely no control from the owners.

yeah its an early morning , and during week place, but if you get on far bank and walk down a bit even on busy days theres some relative peace, but totally agree m8 its another spot ruined by numpties, even club waters are affected , was at westgate the other night and group of teenagers turned up , wernt vandals or anything just noisey and annoying, eventually moved on, but WTF were they doing there, good walk from built up areas, think the airfield probably attracts them, then they just check westgate to see if anyone they can annoy.
I miss the days when I was young and went fishing with dad, there were so many places and river stretches and nowhere near the amount of tits there is kicking about now.

thing is yrs ago when you were out fishing and the idiots came a long, the legal anglers wouldn't stand for it.they would have them shifted in no time.now its a risk of getting a knife in your back or jumped on if you try.not always, but you always have that edge against you.

honest m8 I know it sounds dramatic but worlds f****d up, laws and stuff all favour the offenders, plus the poxy internet is to blame, don't get me wrong this forum is great, but the current generation don't go out and do stuff with their parents anymore which includes fishing and stuff, and as such don't learn to respect nature, they spend all their lives sat on computers , lap tops, and phones, and when they do go out just cause trouble coz they know nowt will happen.
Im actually a granddad lol, don't like to admit it as only 40, but my grandson who is 6 now knows more about computers and tablets than me, I asked him if he wanted a day out this weekend coming fishing with his granddad, and he told me there is an xbox game due to be released so he didn't want to go fishing, sad and sign of times m8.
