Good to introduce some competition. I like the idea of chub, not so fussed with ide or f1s mind.

Gonna be rubbish now hitting westgate for tench, gonna have to get through the other fish before the tench Hope I'm wrong and it helps but can't see it

sounds a lot of fish but it isn't really, specially for westgate, not all will survive either.f1's feed well, they'll be showing the same day they are put in.
I dnt mind f1's or ide.they give you something to target through the colder months when everything else has its head buried in the silt.

What about some good old fashioned crucians? Could do with a local venue for them, used to love catching them in Rossmere Park.

Im not gonna judge till i go for the Tench later in the year, i'm suspecting that the F1s will hammer the hook baits, but tbh the amount of times i've sat and had one or two fish all day at westgate is shocking, at least with the ide and f1s you will be catching something until hopefully you hit a Tench, i agree with Stu as well i've said for years that westgate would be perfect for crucians, but i expect it was all down to cost at the end of the day, but saying that i know ATDAC aren't short of a bob or two

when you look at raskelf were I go they have everything in there.once established you will catch everything.f1's have a tendancy to move around quite a bitt, fart and they will disappear in a second.dosnt stop the crucians and tench getting a look in.come the summer months aswell the f1 and ide tend to feed mid water to surface, plenty of options to get tench/crucians close in aswell.

im new to this and maybe dont have the right to judge yet, but iv fished westgate and bishy mill and both have there problems, with Westgate i think they should of spent some time and money on keeping the weed down , im a waggler and feeder fisher and westgate the way it is really favours the pole which is something i cant take to but thats a personal thing. And its unnerving that if your lucky enough to make contact with a big tench its gonna be a hit and hold job rather than enjoying the fight and the moment, so as to prevent Tench burying in weed, some weed is good but not the soup it is in nearly every peg on first half of pond.
And yes chub are great fish , but i personally would rather they had stocked half and half chub and tench, those little chub are going to take an age to grow in size as the massive shoals of roach and rudd wont give them a look in.
Bishy mill most disappointing so far , iv never seen a pond/ more like lake with so much potential, great pegs, features, its awesome i had so much anticipation when i arrived, but the amount of bits is unbearable , i tried numerous baits even bigger ones, but they just mullered everything.
People who run these fisheries especially Bishy Mill must realise its potential id pay more to be a member just to fish there in closed season, but as it stands i couldn't be bothered trying to wade through thousands of 2 to 4 inch fish to try for one of the Tench or decent bream that are in there, hope they do something with Bishy Mill, maybe net a lot of smaller stuff out, and next year introduce a stock of say 1lb fish tench, bream, chub.
Hope this dosnt offend anyone just saying it as iv found it so far.

get yourself in Bradford number one.its worth it just for raskelf fella alone.well managed and stuffed with fish.although I dnt agree with barbel in stillwaters its got fish to 5lb now.grt fun on light gear.
an all yr round fishery aswell, plenty of ide/roach and f1's to keep you busy in the colder months and plentifull.
yes you have to travel to just outside thirsk but a tenner in diesel is well worth the journey and still a lot cheaper than paying a tenner day ticket and diesel on top to fish a commercial.

cheers m8 is there two ponds on hutton, iv got monday free so was thinking of going all being well , if there is two ponds are both pretty similar with stock ans species, as will leave it till the best ponds free if ones much better than other.
iv just been for a walk along swale checking it out looks awesome , i saw few half decent trout in currents , you could see them moving quickly upwards to grab food items, am excited as if id had fly rod with me a weight forward 5, and a small gold bead hares ear , id of had them, would of put them back though never take river fish.

2 ponds bud, they hold alternative matches on them aswell but theres always one lake free to fish.loads of pegs.
the first lake has your larger fish aswell as silver.the back pond the fish are smaller but grt fun on all methods.all have carp/tench aswell as other species.
the carp in the back lake are hitting 2lb now grt on light gear, plenty of small tench/crucians etc.
