Had a walk down the river this morning ...really surprised by how much timber and rubbish was coming down...well coloured too... presume the rain from yesterday washing some of the fallen branches from the storm downstream..

Spike in the level if anyone venturing out today - just walked the dog at the Dovecote - can’t see the weir...

What we need is some back up NE pike waters, but unfortunately there's next to nothing. I'd do a lot more piking if we had local still waters.

Whats not known by a lot of folk is that I negotiated a lease with the RSPB at Fairburn Ings Nature Reserve on behalf of the local PAC ( they went on to cpmpletly duck it up) and had access to other waters nearby again for pike and I also used to organise private access events to closed off waters, all for pike fishing at very reasonable costs
Might have to get my contact book out again because another poor winter might not mean much fishing in at all

Great idea mike on the river conditions, I sometimes have time when I am out and about on my delivery’s to stop and have a walk by the river in different places.
