Well lads, it's less than a month away now. I for one can't wait, just end up losing the plot during the close season!
So, just to get the discussion started, what are your targets for the coming year and which river will you he concentrating on?
I'll be on the tees, upper middle and lower, in search of some firsts:
- a 5lb tees chub - a 2lb tees perch - a tees barbel
I'll be doing the usual other stuff as well, trying my hand at another 20lb pike and 2lb grayling. If I get most of the above, I'll be a happy man! If I get none, well I'm sure I'll have great fun trying.

ile be hitting my usual swale, although more time will be spent on the tees this yr after joining boro.me an a few fish from yrs back have got scores to settle.
short 4-5 hour seshions on the swale prob evenings and ile concentrate my full days on the tees, more footwork require on the tees, not so easy to locate.

Giving the Wear a miss this season so I can concentrate on the Tees and, to a lesser extent, the Swale. I've never given the upper association water a proper go so instead of the occasional summer visit I'm going to fish it throughout the winter aswell. I'll also be spending more time at Middleton and Dinsdale for a change. Targets: Don't blank. Don't fall in. Get out every week (I love my wife). Stay healthy and safe on the riverbank as I approach 60. Enjoy it.

Great to hear lads.
There's a couple of stretches on the tees that I intend to get to know more intimately this year. I just can't wait.
On the river in the morning, fly rod in tow

Not setting targets for the rest of 2014
I've bettered my pb barbel target this year, already did my chub one as well and my pike lol If a bigger fish comes along so be it but not setting my stall out for them...
A grayling bigger than a lb would be good I guess

Looking to up my pike best, a few decent bream sessions on the lower sections and a few less blanks than last year !

My biggest achievement of the new season would be getting mick to be able to cast into his own peg
