river severn, not to get mixed up with the seven.
this is a small river, results for brown trout/greyling are cracking.its free fishing and you wnt find this in any magazines or advertised anywere.its a place i used to fish on a regular basis with grt results.its worm and fly only and a delight to fish in the village of sinnington just outside the village of kirby moorside.
very easily accessed via the moor road heading towards helmsley, pass through the village and take the to pickering.after you approach kirby moorside cross the roundabout and carry strait on not ignoring the village of keldolm on route to sinnington.this turn off is half a mile over the roundabout at kirby moorside.take the keldholm only turn off untill you see a dry stone wall on your right hand side, park up along the road here, step over the wall and fish along here.its only a small stretch around 400yds.its the river dove and resembles a canal more than a river but its hides some gd surprises taking fish to over 3lb on this stretch.it holds both brown trout/greyling,with the occasional rainbow that escape from the farm when the levels are up.
after keldolm carry on for around 3 miles untill you come to the sinnington turn off.in the centre of the village you'll pass a bridge inwhich you cross the river.fishing is on this side upstream to the woods and over the bridge downstream for 400yds or so.
this is one of my secret locations, well was for many yrs, hope you get to fish these two little rivers as they are very rarely fished and you probabely wnt encounter another angler.they do throw up some exceptional fish, and for the greyling angler can inspire you to return.
