Now bud! I have the Abyss 12ft float rod, 3piece? in my opinion a cracking rod, about £35 why spend more, and my son-in-law landed an 18lb carp with a 9 ft rocket picker, I have the 10ft, very versatile little rod, Ideal for the skimmers at the Resi. and the Okuma epix 30 bait runner is nice reel for about £30.

the okumas are a nice reel to match up with them or the Shakespeare sigma reel if you don't want to spend a fortune

Had the mac 2 avon rod, cracking rod but got rid of it for my neoterics and I must say what a difference!!... That 10lb pike other day felt awesome playing it on the 2.2 top and had chub on the 1.75 top, can't rate the neo's enough..
