Is anyone venturing out on the 16th?
I've got the day off work. The river will probably be very low so I'm going to have a session trotting for silvers.
Good Luck and Tight Lines if you are out.

Can't make my mind up at the moment, part of fancies it but part of me says wait a little longer. Might be some rain next week. If I do venture out it will be after tea, to bright and hot through the day.
Good luck with the silvers, I think they will be on the feed, they always are.

It’s going to be bright and hot, but I’m determined to give it a go. Still unsure what to target, or where to go for that matter, but I’ll let you know how I get on.
Tight lines and best of luck for the coming season.

I decided on an early morning lure session to kick off the new season. As expected, river levels were very low, even so I managed a nice perch on my first cast followed by half a dozen more. No pike or chub, but I did manage a surprise brownie. Things quieter down by 10 am and I took that as my cue to head back home.

I floatfished maggots and had a lovely 6oz Roach 1st cast, followed by loads of Dace and Perch. At one point my keepnet was attacked by a Pike, when I moved swims a while later I noticed the Roach was dead! The Puke had bit it through the mesh! I moved upstream and had a Dace a chuck. Once the sun got high on the sky I packed up. Great days sport.

Nice one chaps, nice to see trout in the river especially if on our local stretch.
