In Angling Direct last weekend to pick up some terminal tackle and hook length line, whilst there I decided to pick up two of those landing net / rod rest quick release adapters one for myself and one for my son, anyway I attached mine to my landing net and pole, really good, easy to remove net to weigh, photograph fish etc. I do have a weigh sling but by the time I get it out of the bag, wet it, weigh it ect then put the fish in etc the clock is ticking, but much easier and quicker re the Korum quick release units.

Hi , I can see a lot of value in what you say and provided they’re robust enough I think I’ll get one.

Appear to be okay Tom, only problem with my net is that it is the Korum folding triangle type, what I did though was to attach the net folded to my backpack at home, once at the river set it all up with handle etc then coming home i just put the handle complete with net still attached into the brolly holder on my rod holdall. Detached net back at car. All straight forward really.

Be wary of them when used on landing net heads. Some types/brands wear over time. If you aren't on the ball, the first time you'll realise there's a problem is when your landing net head falls off. I had this happen with one of the alloy type that locks with the aid of sprung ball bearings. I've never used any type of quick release on a landing net since. I have seen a few others suffer similar issues, especially with larger fish, in strong flows or from high banks/platforms.

Don't worry I've considered that and yes it could eventually happen and if so depending on timescales I'm straight onto Korum.
