Hello All
I have fished the ATDAC stretch at over Dinsdale for the last couple of seasons. I always fish the pegs just downstream of the Toll Bridge, peg 3o is the first peg here I think, I may be mistaken.
How do I get to pegs 1 to 30? Where is the access point?
Thanks

Hi Not sure if we are on about the same pegs, but do you know girsby Bridge, not sure of peg numbers along there but if you don't know the section let me know and I'll ring you.

Hi Kev
That's more towards Sockburn, I fish there quite a bit as well.
The stretch I mean is upstream of the Toll Bridge at Dinsdale, I'm not sure where you access the river for the earlier peg numbers.
Cheers

Ah sorry I'm not familiar with the stretch you mention either to be honest I rarely fish the association river stretches. I'm sure someone on here will have the answers for you.

To access the swims upstream of the bridge you park on the roadside heading towards girsby. Its signed and is before the parking area for pegs 70+ Walk through the field alongside the farmhouse and then along the tree edge. It's all shown on the atdac booklet.
The LH bank, opposite, is boro water and there's a dog walking path along it, its easier to check the fishery from this side rather than scramble through woods with steep banks.

I had a look at the ATDAC bank a year or two back. It was a difficult, long and rather fruitless walk. I found no sign of angling activity on the bank. For the most part, I couldn't even get near the water. The banks are steep and untended. There are vague suggestions of there being a footpath but it peters out frequently and is blocked by fallen trees/branches in places. I'd suggest that anyone exploring that section does so without lugging any fishing gear. If I'd known that, I may have actually found somewhere to fish as opposed to putting in a lot of time and effort before cutting my losses and giving up. I returned to the car and went to the more familiar downstream stretch.

I pretty much agree with what's been said above. I've tried it a couple of times with not much success. It's better fished from the Middlesbrough AC side where the flow and depth are a lot better, as I recall. On the ATDAC side I found the bottom solid rock, with deeper grooves that just added to the difficulty of getting about.
Losing access a few years ago to the pegs upstream of this area that ran down from below Girsby to the start of the ATDAC stretch was a real loss, mind.

Thanks for the info, appreciate it.
The reason I asked was i saw the results for a recent ATDAC Match at Over Dinsdale and was wondering where these pegs were. Maybe they just re-pegged a different stretch for the match.

Maybe they just re-pegged a different stretch for the match. There are loads of new numbers painted on trees on the stretch downstream of the bridge. In some places, the old peg numbers have been obscured or partially removed. I don't know for sure but would suspect that some renumbering has gone on.

The reason I asked was i saw the results for a recent ATDAC Match at Over Dinsdale As a very late aside, where have you seen match results from the ATDAC waters? I've never seen a whisper of them. The best I've managed is a very general overview given by the lads in DAC. I wish I could see full results of every match held on the water. As someone that fishes at Dinsdale fairly regularly, I'd find it quite useful.

I'm a member of a couple of Facebook groups, River Tees Fishing and River Tees's Match Results or something along those lines. They sometimes post the results of the matches on there. They are often quite detailed too.
