Sad news from marske resi. Fished it yesterday with mag an wag, waited four hours for a bite then struggled to 8 small roach, a gudgeon and a perch. Last april I was getting upto ten pound on the whip. The worst part is that having spoken to some of the carp lads, this was apparently a bumper haul of silvers since the winter. Reportedly, the cormorants have hammered it again, despite the best efforts of Dennis who has been going up regularly. The club spent thousands restocking it and those tench, skimmers and crucians were piling weight on. What's going to be done about these evil tw~ts that devastate silver stocks . The floating islands dont work particularly well as the resident goosanders on bishopton mill demonstrate. Are there any virologists on here that can bio-engineer a virus that only kills cormorants, I cant do it cos I only got a cycling proficiency certificate from school and am a bit thick. Hopefully, the silver stocks arent as badly hit as they currently appear, but its looking grim. For those fishing the Ron Thompson memorial, fish for the stockies on the feeder and expect a grueller.

Only two things will stop them a rifle, or sea fish stocks recovering, neither will happen, seals too all over country are going further up rivers, sky news last week on one river one had gone 50miles up river from sea, thats further than tees mouth to cow green

its been a tough winter,i would wait until the water warms up a bitt, marske will still be freezing cold.dnt rite it off yet it can take a while to wake up that place, the same time last year was a lot milder.ile be giving it a few more weeks yet.the cormorants are a pain but dosnt mean its wiped out of silvers.

mate was on marske other day,did ok for early season.mixture ov small carp/skimmers/2 tench and a few roach all on the pole and method feeder.all caught well out in depth, very few bites on maggot, you need to get your bait on the bottom to catch a few.just a heads up if your going again pin your bait down you'll catch.
