mint winter venue this I have had 30lb bags of roach when half of this was frozen over a few years ago they seem to shoal up bigstyle

sure is.always was a mecca for winter roach done a rite up on another forum about it.64lb roach and the odd skimmer thrown in say say odd cos only had 4 the skimmers.roach were all 6oz to a pound.

Isn't there some big carp in there?? Last year when I went to primrose valley I got talking to a old bloke and he reckons there's some massive bream and pike in there

Wasn't til this year I've really got into rivers, I prob will fish it this season when rivers are screwed

used to be carp to 30lb-roach to 3lb-bream double figures-perch 2lb plus-pike to over 30lb-tench to 6lb.and all the usual rudd-gonks.
its a cracking water to fish but you can only use sea deadbaits for pike and no lures now.

marty,well worth it for a days winter roach fishing mate.hemp is a killer.fish a black bead with a tippex flash on it,serious speed fishing wen they come.

Jesus haven't fished hemp or tare for years Would be much better if there was 2/3 of yous going much cheaper

be harder for me now cos don't fish the pole,but got two whips ide get em on.like the bead,never have to change your bait then propa speed fishing.

Is it the big lake at the mere because last time I was looking at it about 5 years ago it was gin clear I mean you could see the bottom about 10m out and everyone was fishing the little lake?

they all fish mate now.its had a hell of a lot of work done.my mates 5 mins away eastfields scarbrough and he's a regular on there and does really well.when the colder weather comes it'll be pike-roach or bust.
