A few of my tench waters are weed choked every spring so I had been needing a rake for a while. Not much available to buy and those that look decent are very expensive, so I made my own. It took a while to make as I get very little spare time, but I managed to finish it tonight. Fairly happy with the result, built to last, so hopefully I don't lose it in a snag first session! The rope is only cheap nylon stuff, hopefully the coils fall out after I've used it a few times, if not I'll find something better.

Can you get BBC2 on that?
I'd try and get some draw rope the 6mm stuff that BT use in the ducts underground foer when they pull cable through, that hard nylon rope never comes loose enough to work,or lay right after coiling and will tangle during a throw, tried stretching that stuff with my tractor before but it just returns to normal
The rake looks like it'll clear a swim pretty quickly but the softer draw rope will let you chuck it out further

Got hold of some better cordage, a lot more supple than the orange stuff. Looking forward to some sunshine and some tench fishing.
