Just got back in and passed the Swale a half hour or so ago
Up a bit and looks angry, lots of chocolate brown in it, very mucky

Was hoping to get on the Swale for chub later, typical of my luck lately!

Mid tees heavily coloured and slowly rising.
Had a couple of hours before work after pike, zero interest, wasn’t surprised given the conditions. Land drains are putting loads of colour in and some water is working it’s way downstream.
Level was spot on, prob a few days for that colour to drop tho.

Unlucky! Thought it was gonna be alright this week but there’s been plenty of rain already - hope it clears for the weekend..

I popped down today and it was much clearer than yesterday when it had been pretty coloured up. Fine heightwise too. I'd say you'd be ok for chub, even though it's getting a bit colder day by day. It could even be ok for pike, but my hunch about them fwiw is they've gone dormant on us.

Cheers for that info, I won’t have a lot of time so planning on travelling light and just flicking a few lures for pike. Pretty cold but much colder in Scandinavia and they seem to catch plenty! Then out with dead’s on Sunday hopefully...any joy today?

I had three chub yesterday, all 3lb-ish, to cheese paste and meat. Had a few hours today as well, but trying the float rod as I thought it would be a nice way to see if I could get a bream from a swim where I've found a few. Didn't get a bream, but did get another chub, just a small one maybe 2lb, but good fun on the float rod. You're more disciplined in your pursuit of pike than me. So good luck if you go out tmo.

Congrats on yesterday’s hat trick! That’s good going given that it must have been pretty murky - also fair play for a go on the float rod today...I don’t know about more disciplined- Like you I do like to vary the target - going to try some smaller lures than usual - got a good feeling - which will no doubt mean a blank!
