It will fly by mate...always seems ages away but it does seem to go pretty quick, i find its the last week or so leading up to the open that drag

I've just cleaned all my barbel rods, cleaned my tackle (including my personal tackle before any one comments ) and made a list of what I need for next year Got 3 places in mind for opening day.. One would be a banker, I know a spawning ground on the Swale and the fish hang about there til July.. But it's not my first option

i try to avoid spawning fish,difficult I know.i tend to move away from packs of fish and fish for the stragglers.tend to be the decent ones aswell.

I'm hoping for a river ijsell barbel on our opening day in holland if you know what I mean lads. Thers no closed season over there, just certain lakes are out of bounds and no worms before June 1st )

Already spawned by June, they just hang about the spawning grounds til July.. Tbh I just wanna go where there won't be anyone else.. Tees is my first option, place where I got my first river chub is where I'm fancying the most

Dunno why you lads banging on about fly gear, better of with some worms and a leger rod or trot a float with a worm under it, im off down jo riggs through the week, loads of trout there, i will be banging out the leger and i will catty some chopped worms out as well, should get them trout queing up

Langton has some gd rainbows in.escapy's.barnard castle free stretch isnt bad either in town
