Thought I was being clever today. Went down to bowesfield, river was cock on, but of colour, and the extra water hadn't got down there. Started fishing at 7.30 and was getting knocks on the quiver. Suddenly the first rowing boat came flying through the swim, followed by more and more. I shot a pike rod out and some boats just flew past, one almost hitting my bank (poor bloke, he got a handful of maggots thrown at him). I gave up in the end - pointless.

Surely they can stay to the middle f the river?? Wouldn't mind then because I was fishing the inner shelf. But no, for some reason, they all came flying though about two rod lengths out I was already annoyed because I was going to go around the 160s on yarm water, as it did some 30lb weights last weekend, and I was hoping to find the pike. Went down the track and a tractor was blocking the way down for the car, nobody around to ask either. Cheesed off
