jim get in Bradford number one mate your lost for em and you only have to travel as far as boroughbridge but many more mate.
milby cut canal boroughbridge is hardly fished and plenty to go at.
we have the first 3 pegs above the weir pool aswell bud which is the mouth of the canal from the main river, exceptional for pike and big shoals ov bream in the summer moving up to spawn.
aire calder is decent aswell but your lost for pike waters jim.

Trust me mark I'm tempted! Been reading up on Leeds, Bradford no1, Bradford City aa, York. All sound good. One of two clubs are making way though, including Leeds and possiblly thornaby. Keeping yarm and Stockton (yarm is my annual Xmas present from the in law anyway!!). Joining darlington brown trout (well, awaiting approval). And keeping Middlesbrough.
Thing with me is I have one chance to go fishing every week, an the more water I have access too, the more choice I have and the more chance of getting on a river in the right state.

not forgetting thorny mate I know I hamper on about thorny, but exceptional stretch for big fat winter chub and thoughs large bules, aswell as pike well into high doubles, bream, humongos roach, flickering ov dace, monster gonks and the odd big lady upstream on the middle pegs.
raskelf lake when its out just up the road, still one of the best mixed fisheries round them parts and no carp to worry about apart from f1's and the odd king strain which no one wants in there but only around 10 in there.
and for you specially when your driving for work over that way loads of river everywere.

Is Leeds water better though mark? I've noticed that you tend to hit toppy or asenby ahead of Thornton bridge of late - appreciate you don't get out near as much as you like mind!

conditions have been low when ive been out jim and have been going with shane last few times and he wasn't a member.last season I was never away from the place and had the bulk ov me bules from there and biggest.when I have been tempted the waters been above the flood bank so ive turned round and come home or fished raskelf.thorny bridge is better fished a few hours early morn or late evening aswell.not often I sit there all day.generally fish raskelf, then drop of for a few hours on the evening.been the way I have aswell some pegs on thorny can be a walk so toppy was out the car 30 seconds to peg.
