Problems with Daiwa 125m Clse face reel

I have a Diawa 125m Harrier closed faced reel.
Purchased in the 80s and not had a great deal of action.
Ive had it serviced but a problem keeps occurring.
on retreval the reel is fine up until that 20 mtrs , everytime
the wind in, gets stiffer.
Im only guessing its wet line that causes it, has anyone anyone
any ideas.

I'm guessing the spool is overfilled

I would go along with Bri,s reply - could be down to overfilled spool

Thanks for the replies, I've checked spool and the line is around 3mm from the rim.
It's fresh 3lb line.

On the 506 there's a dotted line around the spool rim indicating max fill.
If you have a spare spool with no line put it on and operate the reel if it rotates OK, load your new line onto it without backing and see how it works.
