Hi all,
What, in people’s opinions, are currently the best value Pike rods going? Looking to upgrade soon, but I’d like to make an informed choice.
Thanks!

You might have to give us a bit of a clue first What rods are you currently using that you want to upgrade from? What test curve or power rating are you looking for , short range long range or all round rods Price range? Its no secret I've got a rod or two with different actions and different power ratings and different makes (Fox,Shimano,DLST,Normark,ET) and I'll use different ones at different times Depending on where you fish and how you fish a 1.75lb rod may cover what you need or a 2.5lb might suit you better again depending on how you fish, also are you looking for 1 rod or a package of rods which give you value over a shorter period or buy at the top end for a one off lifetime type of purchase

The rods I have are•
12’ 2.75tc x3 12’ 3.5tc x2
10’ 3.5tc x 3 10’ 2.75tc x 1
As you can see these rods are fairly varied, the shorter rods for river and boat fishing, the 2 x 12’ 3.5tc are for big water long casts and bait boats. The 3 12’ 2.75tc rods cover 75% of my fishing, from small medium waters to big lochs.

I’m upgrading from a no-name carp rod. Looking for something suitable for river deadbaiting. Ideally 2.5 - 3lb tc? Budget up to £100?

Have a look at the Drennan range, some very good rods in that price range, think the pick of those will be the Esox rods if theyre still available, also the Wychwood range, very understated and very underrated and very very good
I have some Wychwood barble rods and they're better than Korum's etc and I rate the Wychwood stuff highly but keep off the cheaper end and have a look at the better end of the range
Greys make some very good rods but sometimes stocks can be a bit erratic
Second hand wise, Normark Gord Burton rods, DLST (dave Lumb), Fox Predator X/S come up for sale occasionally and offer very good value for the quality of the rods, you'd be at the top end of your price range for a second hand DLST rod though

Also looked at Daiwa Black Widow. Any good? Wychwood are a good shout - hadn’t thought of them. I have Wychwood fly rods and reels, which I genuinely can’t fault for their price. Thanks for the tip!

Diawa black widow is at the lower end of their range but their top rods are very good but will be over your price range

I've just bought a wychwood pike rod off a lad for.....a tenner !!! Not used it yet but it's basically brand new, think it's the rogue but I'd have to check , I have a korum 2.75 flood water barbel rod that I use for float fishing deads, and 3 fox warrior 3.25 that I use for ledgers deads, and tbh there fantastic rods, if you look over at Wallys fishing tackle in darlo you'll probs get a set of 3 decent rods for around your budget or less 👍👍😉
