Hi Andy. Come into Darlington from Teesside down the A66 and go down to the roundabout at Bland's Corner where the car showrooms are and go straight across as if you're heading for the motorway. About 400 yards from the roundabout there's a right turn signposted Blackwell village, follow the road for a couple of hundred yards and as the road goes sharp right there's a public footpath down to the river, park on the roadside. The path comes out at the bottom of the stretch, upstream is free and downstream is Darlington brown trout's water. Car should be fine ,it's a nice area.

Broken scar never appealed cause few times iv been for look ,there's smell of piss in the air , people fishing with what looks like sea fishing gear , and people shotting stuff in water and lots of rubbish
Im liking sound of Blackwell more ,just hope what you saw Steve is just one bit cause that's type of thing I can't be doing with

I know everything's very secretive with regards to tees whiskers , but as it's a free stretch thought I'd just ask I have no clue about the stretch but from where I parked and walked down through wood to where you come out at river ,I really liked the look of a slightly deepish run between rapid water with over hanging trees from the long walk I had this looked best bet for summer chub and possibility of a rare barbel if you know where I mean it's just after you emerge from trees , the rest of the walk the river looked very shallow until u got way upstream any help appreciated
