Iv been getting quite few barbel over last year ,on wharfe,Swale, Trent, and couple on nidd .
Iv had friendly banter and people often say the Tees Barbel is much more of a challenge ,and I agree but only in terms of finding them .
Thats where the challenge dosnt quite sit right with me , if for instance the Tees had a head of barbel that you could target but due to them being super spooky , or the river was very snaggy they were a challenge then I'd get that perspective , and I'd never fish anywhere but the tees cause knowing they were in stretches I was fishing would be the only encouragement I'd need ,I'd happily blank all year aslong as I knew I was atleast covering some in my efforts .
But the reality is the tees is a massive huge river compared to some , and it has a very small head of barbel that when you consider what little we have access too is mind boggling , so to me that's not a challenge, it's pure luck with maybe knowledge of the species giving you a few percent better chance .
I am going to get a proper one this year or coming though as it is on my bucket list to get a good size bule out of the tees

To be successful on the tees Andy you do need a touch of good luck but the successful tees anglers who catch well and regularly aren't lucky they've earned their knowledge over a long period of years and gone through a lot of blanks to get that river knowledge of when to fish and where
So in essence what I'm saying is the river is a real challenge and you only get successful on it by building up your knowledge base, successful tees anglers don't rely on luck

been a few years since ive had barbel of the tees.if you fish an area that you know they are there then theres one tick but you have to put plenty of hours in and expect a lot of blanks unless you hit gold first attempt. but the rewards are worth the time an effort an i only fish for obe bite and some water craft thrown in will help.
