Hi guys. Just joined and wanted to say hello. I live In Thornaby and am just coming back to fishing after a 10 year golf layoff 😁. Anyway I like to coarse fish for leisure (not matches). Would appreciate any info on venues worth a visit.

Hi Bric. I fish anywhere I can get. Will just be day tickets at the moment but thinking about joining a club. Definitely open to any recommendations for day tickets and clubs.
Thanks

Welcome along Glen, I'm Thornaby too and often just pop down the free stretch at horseshoe bend on the Tees, it can be quite productive on a good day, and it's comfortable fishing if you just wanna nip down for a few hours to get back into the swing of fishing again, there's numerous still waters to fish within a 45 minute drive, the closest to us being Hilton ponds which can also offer a good days fishing 👍😉

Thanks Plenty of day ticket waters not far from you. As mentioned Hilton at yarm probably the closest. You've also got Carr's which is in Carlton Village bit pricey though £12 a day ticket it is I think. Little further afield you've got Moulton Lane Pond just near Croft Circuit. Or just before you get to Scorton you've got Green Lane. Further in from them the other side of Northallerton you've got Morndyke Farm then just further on youve got The Oaks at Sessay. Hope that helps

Im not a big fan of commercials but tees valleys yarm lake although small would get a look , it's secluded secure site u need code to get in , no numpties are tollerated , if you look at availability on bookings you can pick a day pretty much to yaself .
Has good head of carp 3lb up to 10 lb , floating bread allowed , reasonable head of tench , loads of skimmers and few proper bream ,and lots of roach to good size
