Well unless your on my fb personal page, you won't be aware that I joined slimming world 11 weeks ago and so far I've lost 3 stone, and a fair few awards including slimmer of 2019 slimmer of the month twice and slimmer of the week numerous times, I've also started cycling although I'm not going any great distance, normally 5 miles and think furthest is around 10 miles but I'm keeping it regular and feeling the benefits. The biggest shocker is I've not had one alcoholic drink in the entire 11 weeks, oh and I've started playing the ukulele too lol π

That's brilliant,Mick. We all know that a sensible diet, alcohol in moderation, and plenty of exercise are sensible lifestyle choices but very few take any notice especially when we're young and think we're invincible. At 62 I've seen plenty of old schoolmates and friends die of heart attacks, not old these days and unfortunately many of them were both heavy smokers and drinkers. I've never carried any weight but noticed a few years ago that after clambering around riverbanks on a weekend I was knackered at work on a monday so I decided to do something about it so started running again after a few years out and bought myself a crosstrainer which has been a great investment. Definitely improves quality of life and if it extends my fishing years it's got to be good, the hardest part is sticking at it but once it becomes part of your daily routine it's not difficult. You've done the hard bit now keep it up,Mick. Hope I haven't fallen for an April fools, that photo looks like a photoshop job to me .

Lol cheers Graeme appreciate it, certainly not a April fools, your right once it becomes routine you don't really think you automatically head for or shop for those healthy options, even the smallest details add up, like using 5% less mince and sausages, removing fat from meat before cooking ect all makes a huge difference, to me it's not a diet anymore it's a life style change, I'm stilling enjoying fry ups and Currys but with healthier options that's all πππ

Brilliant to see you continuing to the good work,Mick. Out of interest do you have a target weight to achieve when you'll decide it's time to say you've done enough and try to stay at that weight. Might we see you in next years London marathon? .

Cheers Graeme, well I can't even eat a marathon never mind run one ππ I didn't set a target weight because originally it would have seemed so far away and daunting, it was self pressure I didn't want, but now I am starting to think about a target weight, especially now I know I can do it, maybe around the 14 stone or even 13, my bmi says I should be 9 stone 6lb to 12 stone 6lb, but that's ridiculous, mind it does state that the bmi is just a rough guide and not that accurate, for example that would mean that these super fit rugby players would be classed as morbidibly obese and obviously their not lol ...so far now I'm just gonna keep plodding away until I've lost another 4 stone ππ

Fair play Mick, not easy bud, your right about bmi, when at my peak I was 13 stone and ripped, trained 6 days a week, doc said my weight was to high for my height, I should be 10 stone! Wouldnβt be that if you cut both legs off, my body fat was under 10%....... ainβt that now ffs. Hence Iβve been on health check too, 19lbs off to date. Went to gilling west tonight for couple of hours chucking the fly, few rises but no takes, took a walk round the course lake and chatted to a lad who showed me the remains of a couple of fish on the bank, bit concerning. Will mention it tomorrow with committee member.
