Hi all, not fished since moving back to the UK 13 years ago until last year. I the past I fished mainly large mouth bass and carp over in South Africa. was gifted some fishing gear from a friend at work and took my son out a few times to our local pond in Shotton and a few other private fisheries.
Looking to join a club in the area where I could fish on still water and river. With there being no bass in the UK my next best thing is Pike which I'm looking to target. Also fancy a bite of barbel fishing on the river as wild fish always put up a good fight.
Open to any recommendations
Thanks for reading
David

Theres probably a few I've missed but all the above listed have decent waters

Thanks for the reply BriC . Should have also mentioned in my first post I live in Peterlee but work in Billingham so I'm in the area often. I've looked at brasside over Durham way but not heard many positive reviews . Fished Watergate at murton which is a nice venue for a overnight session . I'll have a look at the club's you mentioned

welcome mate. like bri says plenty of local clubs to go at. if you don't mind traveling abit then Leeds is a good option. loads of waters on there covering alot of the prolific Yorkshire rivers. get yourself in a couple of clubs then you can fish for all situations. all relatively cheap. good forum aswell mate keep in touch with it and you'll learn a few things along the way. even if your out blanking stick something up it all helps.
tight lines

For pike I generally travel, There's no pike in Sunderland! So I normally head North of the border.
