I agree Bri, one thing i will say in the committees favour is that they were and are genuinely saddened about the lack of interest in members attending the AGM and not just this one but also previous ones, i honestly did get the feeling that they truly do want to hear members concerns and thoughts on how and what could be done to improve the club and the fishing for all its members.

people stopped attending because no matter what was asked, got washed under the carpet a lot of the time. I would certainely have attended if I didn't have other things on.but in saying that what would be the point in an xtra one.
maybe the committee are having a change of heart, ile be at the nxt one for sure.

I know mate and i know why you couldn't make it and rightly so fella, don't get me wrong i'm not trying to be the Middlesbrough AGM enforcer lmao, though it may come across like that, it just infuriates me when people whine on all year about stuff but when given the opportunity to put this stuff across at the correct place and time don't bother, but will happily carry on moaning about the same things the very next day and for the rest of the following year!! I actually finished work 2 hours early which cost me pay so i could attend and find out what the club was up to, it wasn't a total loss though as i did get to find out some interesting things

theres only 1 item I would have brought up when there and you know exactely what it is,cos we both been in the firing line over it and it wasn't even on the day of the event. match lads dnt need to attend they'v got what they want.its the wandering lads like ourselves I feel sorry for.we still pay the money like all the rest but get the shit of the shovel as far as I'm concerned.
grt club and water, just a few niggly's need to change.im all for matches it brings in more revenue, hence more waters/stock/maintenance etc.but when they close 5 miles of river for 30 blokes it stinks.1 section alone would cater for there needs no problem.its been mentioned a lot in the past at agm's and bugger all,its just the same.
quite happy with everything else,i can cope with a few cows in a field,we going to get that what ever club we are in.could do with a really large turnout, see what they are prepared to do or change.i for one dnt like to be lectured by certain individuals about fishing, when we were not fishing outside the rules.it clearly stated the times that were not permitted, just so happens that some individuals forget whats in the rule book and moan when you obide it aswell.

Just a update on what's happening with the club ... Sadly Ron Thompson passed away a few months ago and he was basically Mr Boro angling club and he will be sorely missed by all Membership for this year is now closed due to the club reaching it's capacity membership numbers for insurance purposes however next year the club is upping it's membership number to accommodate new members, with the passing of Ron who dealt with all new memberships the arrangement now is that as of next year's membership all new and renewal can be purchased over the counter with Dale at Anglers choice on Cumberland rd Middlesbrough. The clubs old website is no longer but a new website has been designed and is due to go live in the very near future at the moment no exact date can be given due to a slight technical issue with the clubs actual domain name. Matches are now being held about once a month on the lower dinsdale stretch which are mainly on a Tuesday lists of dates are available at dales, I do have a copy and will put it up shortly, on the match front they will be a EA survey match this Sunday covering most of the Tees around that area including boros stretch so it will be closed to pleasure anglers I think I've covered most things but if I think of anything else I will add it later ....oh as regards this Sundays match the NYSD stretch will also be used along with billingham angling clubs, haughton and harrowgate hills so basically if your out on Sunday on atdac waters around that area expect the opposite bank to be rather busy

Much more common sense approach too, I know clubs want to protect fish stocks, but more often than not people who fish stretches a lot struggle to catch, so pretty sure the odd numpty trying their luck will have any joy.
Also I struggle to find people other than lads on this forum that are into river fishing much, with only odd day on free stretches proving popular, rest of time most, Inc me this year fish stillwaters.
I don't think we would notice much difference if clubs were more open with posts, though I'm probably wrong, often am.
Boros stillwaters, well the one Iv fished at Hutton is good, not particularly scenic in any way, but very well stocked, and good bunch of lads fish there especially closed season.
Iv only really joined borough to get there tees stretch which I'm going to target this winter

I'd like to join the club next year when it reopens for possible new membership. Had a quick look today at new marske ressie and looks pretty tidy. Saw one gent fishing but that's it. If any free passes to have a try out on the water along with one of you who pop down wouldnt be unappreciated. 😌😂👏
