PMSL , think theres still one or two left to go for, but must be honest we were part of a Lomond Pike Survey in the mid-ninety's in conjuntion with Glasgow University and in particular a fellow PAC member Bill Little who we fished with up there, lol omg some of the cracks n laughs we've had with him lol, the survey proper suprised me, as in the amount of repeat captures we were getting in the North of the loch at Ardlui, we had to weigh, measure and tag the virgin fish we caught, whether it was 2 lb or 20 pound, we did it, proper pain in the feckin arse sometimes when you got multiple runs, there was one fish in particular that rings bells here, and I nick-named it Beathoven cos tag no 1812 ( as in overture ) its weight fluctuated between 17 lb to almost 19 lb at peak in late Spring, all Lomond pike are long lean fighting machines that will test you and your gear to the limit, absolute the most beautiful hard fighting pike you'll ever come across, the lochs summat like 24 miles long ( as the crow flies ) and the survey opened my eyes as in the movement of the fish, bearing this in mind and certain times of the year , an upper double that was tagged at Balmaha southern limit was caught again at Ardlui Northen limit within four days am too drunk to type now lol !

I’m only joking mate. Lomond isn’t a water I know particularly well. Ardlui bay is the North end and I’ve only fished the southern banks twice in total. I was just speaking with another NE piking lad about a water that opens up October 1st generally. But like most waters money talks, I’d like to plan a NE social on there maybe try and get 10 anglers so 5 boats and I’m sure a lure session could be organised. There is a good head of pike in there and fishing it September will be better as it’s before the pike season pressure. It’s not a water I’ve fished much but I had a fish of 17 and 15.8 a couple of seasons ago. Another I could organise for this winter, this water is in Scotland with limited bank fishing. I could get the full loch (possibly) for a few anglers. I’ve had a few 20’s from this water and plenty of back up fish. I haven’t fished it for years but I know lads have went there and had fish to 15lb and last season it did do a number of 20’s. Again if this is something of interest I could organise it.
