Used to be a good fishery a few years ago before it started to go downhill with a dwindling membership and lack of funds. Good news is a few lads who care about the place have done a lot of work on weed control and also restocked it. Bit far from Teesside but worth a visit if you like catching silvers rather than carp for a change. Nice to see a non commercial making a bit of a comeback especially when it's on my doorstep. Fished it a few times last autumn and facing West is sometimes good for a sunset shot. Hopefully be a while before we see anymore weather like this.

Day tickets a fiver,Mick. I was at Eden Meadows (Trimdon) last week and the top lake is now silvers only, nice quiet day out but a pole job really. I fished the middle pond and got a silver a chuck on maggot.

Aycliffe have a website and facebook page,Mick, all info. on there. Eden Meadows is probably a better bet at the moment, mobile number on his facebook page. I think it's open every day now except Mondays .

If you put a golf ball into the pond from the tee it's time to give up and start fishing! Sometimes done deliberately by dickheads though.

Looks a lovely intimate water , throwback venue , there's more natural beauty in those photos than every modern hole in the ground combined

Definitely worth a go for the perch,Andy. Good fish often come out,not sure about the tench. I held the tench record years ago when I was a kid,3lb 2oz. Biggest fish I'd ever seen,I thought it was massive .

Cheers Mick where do i get tickets ,is it on bank ?
Also while on i walked dog round bricky last evening , and am 99% sure i saw what would be a double figure pike atleast in corner near first peg as you walk up , it looked in reasonable condition other than a perfect whitish circle on its top just behind head , probably due to being attacked by a predator in its earlier days , or foul hooking or something , nothing wrong with its reactions mind ,as soon as i creeped up too close it bolted off leaving a big V accross the surface

Don't know whether you know Aycliffe,Andy, but there's a tackle shop in Whinbank Rd. on the industrial estate which sells day tickets. It's only 2 minutes from the fishery.
