now lads! Maver have brought a new product out called bow ties, to be used with pellets, they are a pellet band with a toggle in the middle which holds the pellet slightly away from the hook, and when you tighten the toggle you can place it on the hook anywhere you like, they come in 2 sizes 2 mm, and 4 mm, saves making that short hair rigged pellet band, Ive been using em with the same success as a hair rig. £2 a packet.

gatenby is a spanking stretch on the shalla's,you can get some good bags of chub, specially of the old pegs from between 70's-90's.not sure if your familar with the old peg numbers, but they were above R.A.F,leaming bridge stretch, old frankie stubbs land.
a quick run through the streamer will get u among em,specially on the stick.take plenty of bait if u decide on this stretch, big roach are plentifull and generally you will catch a lot more silvers than other beats of the swale.dosnt like to much water, its a pretty strait course of water with not a lot of bends so it tends to fly through, although above the old 90's theres some slack water worth a try.
just a thumbs up,spent all my match days along gatenby and come up trumps on a gd few occasions,gd luck lads if u decide to fish it.

not tried them bands yet, they look spot on tho, the only problem is you can only use em with pellet, I tend to make my own hoolklengths with a band attatched then you can use as a baiting needle to pull the band through a cube of meat, a drilled pellet or just use it as normal with the band around the pellet, it gives me more options but I dare say them bow ties give good presentation over a standard hair cos you can adjust the pellet to where you want it on the hook, in spotted em in redcar angling, gona get some to try.
