Got to Gainford around 09.30. River low and very clear and carrying ice crystals in small rafts of ice. Gave it a go but gave up after 30mins. Slow bits well iced over, faster water fishable but ice forming on the line and on the rod rings.

Fishing the Swale above topcliffe, good level but shitty green colour (snow melt), air temp was -2 when I got here, not much warmer now.
Water temp - 1c
Not looking good

Swale yesterday, above topcliffe, below catterick.
River in good condition, slightly up, slight colour. Water temp was upto 4 C, it was 1C 2 weeks ago, possibly on the rise from the rain water, hopefully it doesn't drop again.

Keep forgetting about this Thread ......was same at Skipton but with fair bit of flow, was probably just a little to fast to fish the float effectively

I'm not ignoring this tread by the way, just difficult to tell conditions when you arrive in pitch black!

Tees at Middleton normal level. Normal colour. Plenty of fish blighting. Just the weather turned shit. Washed and blown out at 3pm.

Called in at topcliffe on the way home today, level is up, maybe 6", nice peaty colour too, almost looked black from the bridge.
Should be good for a few if anyone's venturing out.
