Collecting worms. A quick easy and convenient way of collecting worms for fishing. Find a cut grass lawn, use a water can and introduce washing up liquid to the water. Sprinkle over a square meter at a time. Worms will come out of the earth, collect and wash them quickly in clean water then dry in peat or moss.

My way is to go out after dark and after rain and collect them from a field at the back of my house. I then put them in a large box with some well rotted manure and then cover this with turf. They really like to get into the turf and this also helps keep the moisture in. Kept in a cool dark place they will survive for months

out the front of mine we have a big field and when weve had heavy rain the paths around the field are alive with worms, i think if i could be arsed i could probz collect 200 worms in no time. tried the washing up liquid carry on in the back garden and got about 20 worms at the most, alright for a change of hookbait but not worth the hassle i dont think.

hemlington lake is good for lobbys up near the farmhouse I usually walk along the paths on the damp nights all the lobbys are on the path near the fencing I have a headlamp on sometimes but have it covered with a bit of red see through paper just so I can see the worms better don't try it with a proper light on as the worms will soon dash underground have had over 200 worms ago quite a few times :-)

Putting soapy water on the garden has never worked for me :/ But like mark said if I want worms I usually just walk round the lake with a tub get stacks off them near the White House where the water runs down from the hill

Cant believe my method is not already posted ........ Get garden fork - big one - stick in grass up to the top of the forks - waggle backwards and forwards briskly (the fork not you ) If a worm doesn't pop up I'll eat my whippet Best done when damp and if the fork manages to grind against a stone it seems to work even better. Been getting my worms like this since i was a kid ........... Go on - go have a try .............. you know you want to

Or have you ever watched seagulls tapping their feet on the ground son that the worms think its raining and come out, so you should all go out and do a rain dance to get the worms, looking at the weather I suspect some of you have
