Planning a fishing trip? Please make sure you've got the right licenceIt’s an offence to fish for salmon, sea trout, freshwater fish and eels without a valid rod licence. If you're found fishing without the correct licence you may be fined up to £2,500. before you set off. Concessions are also available and you should check your eligibility below.

if your a blue badge holder or in receipt of Disability Living Allowance you'll need your national insurance or blue badge number for your concession.
Do you need a second licence?
If you’re fishing for coarse fish with three or four rods, you’ll need to buy a second licence. It’s exactly the same process – just make sure you’ve got both licences with you when you’re fishing.
Stay on the right side of the law
Post Office sells Rod Fishing Licences on behalf of the Environment Agency so there's no excuse not to have one unless your not a proper angler after all. Any angler aged 12 or over, fishing for salmon, trout, freshwater fish or eels in England (except the River Tweed), Wales and those areas of the Border Esk under the Environment Agency jurisdiction must have an Environment Agency Rod Fishing Licence.
